Dennis Hopper will always be remembered for his great acting. It's truly sad and a great loss. Not just for the movie industry but in general as he was a man of integrity. His most rememorable movie for me is Hoosiers.

Regards,
Jenn

As well as the necessary term limits and absolutely the line item veto, there needs to be people elected who actually LISTEN to their constituents and vote on issues accordingly. There was a Dem Congressman who actually stated that he wasn't going to listen to his people, and was going to vote for the Obamacare, because he felt that his people needed it, no matter what they thought. This person, should not only be immediately recalled, but rode out of town on a rail.

Tex, extremely well done! And, it is a moving tribute to those who have gone before us. I happened to be at Arlington National Cemetary, burying my Mother next to my Dad, the Thursday that one of those murdered was laid to rest with the Honor Guard, cassion, rifle squad, and all trappings that went with the act of saying goodbye to a fallen hero. As Taps were sounded out, our thoughts and prayers went with it.

Thanks so much for sharing a bit of history on this very important day in our history. Baxter R Rascoe was gassed on that day, November 11, 1918, in the Argonne Forest in France. He survived to father a large family.

To any veteran, this day is sacred. It is a day that is to be devoted to remembering all those who have served, and in far too many cases, have given all they had to give. It is profane that there are those who will simply not get the message that these individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, race, creeds, or anything else that differentiates them, on this day, are gathered as One. The American citizen-soldier. Someone that has made the decision to do his or her duty to protect this great nation. On this day, we raise our hands in salute to those who have gone before, to our absent friends, and to those who serve today. God bless them.

...When I see a busload of kids attacking another kid, and 10 kids standing there taping it on their cellphones in order to get it on 'youtube', and I have to ask the question," How were these kids raised, to exhibit such a moral decay?"...I have to pray to believe that I am 'normal'. Otherwise, all the generations that came before this one are for naught, and I am glad that I have had such a good run of this life, for the end is nigh (not anytime soon, I hope)

I used to spend a lot of time in Archer City, where 'The Last Picture Show' was filmed, back when I lived in Wichita Falls (where the pool scene was filmed at Bobby ? house off Southwest Parkway). The house is still there, and Archer City still looks just like it did in the movie. An interesting trivia question is, "what was the name of the last picture show in the movie?"
